Stress & Trauma Therapy
Understanding the impact—and beginning to heal at the root
When stress becomes overwhelming, or past experiences won’t stay in the past
Stress is a part of life—but when it becomes constant, intense, or tied to unresolved experiences, it can start to take a toll. You might find yourself on edge, emotionally flooded, or simply exhausted from holding everything together.
Sometimes stress is linked to more recent life pressures, but often, it’s also shaped by deeper emotional patterns or earlier experiences of trauma—whether or not we think of them that way.
Therapy can offer a space to slow down, make sense of what’s happening, and begin working through what’s underneath.
Signs stress or trauma may be affecting you
-
Constant tension or difficulty relaxing
-
Sleep issues, fatigue, or burnout
-
Panic, overwhelm, or feeling emotionally flooded
-
Avoidance, shutting down, or going numb
-
Intrusive memories or flashbacks
-
A sense that you’re stuck in survival mode
Stress and trauma can affect not just how we feel, but how we relate, make decisions, and experience ourselves. You don’t have to face it alone.

How ISTDP helps with stress and trauma
I work using Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP)—a focused, evidence-based approach that helps clients understand and process the unconscious emotional conflicts driving their symptoms.
Rather than only managing stress on the surface, ISTDP helps uncover the deeper patterns that keep us in cycles of overwhelm, avoidance, or distress. It allows us to gently but directly face difficult feelings and memories, while building internal strength and emotional clarity along the way.

This work can support you to:
-
Feel more emotionally grounded and less reactive
-
Process unresolved trauma in a safe and contained way
-
Understand and shift long-standing emotional patterns
-
Reconnect with your own strength, clarity and self-trust
-
Move from survival mode into a more connected, authentic life
