Therapy for Anxiety

Understanding what’s beneath the surface—so you can begin to feel more at ease

Living with anxiety

Anxiety can be exhausting. You might find yourself stuck in cycles of overthinking, constantly anticipating what could go wrong, or feeling on edge without knowing why. Sometimes, anxiety shows up physically—in tension, restlessness, shallow breathing, or difficulty sleeping. Other times, it’s a general sense of unease that never quite goes away.

You may be doing your best to manage, but underneath there’s a constant feeling of pressure or fear that’s difficult to explain—and even harder to switch off.

Therapy offers a chance to slow down, tune into what’s really going on inside, and work toward lasting relief.

How I work

I offer therapy using ISTDP (Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy)—a focused, evidence-based approach that helps get to the root of anxiety, rather than simply managing symptoms.

In ISTDP, we explore the emotional conflicts that often sit beneath anxious thoughts and feelings. These can stem from earlier experiences where it didn’t feel safe—or even possible—to express what you really felt. Over time, these unresolved emotions can turn inward, showing up as anxiety, self-doubt, or internal pressure.

Together, we’ll begin to notice and understand these patterns with care, helping you feel more in control and more connected to yourself.

ISTDP can help with:

  • Generalised anxiety, chronic worry, or tension

  • Social anxiety and fear of judgment

  • Panic attacks or intense emotional overwhelm

  • Obsessive thoughts and compulsive behaviours

  • Avoidance and difficulty making decisions

  • Self-doubt, perfectionism, and inner pressure

A space to work things through

You don’t need to have all the answers before starting therapy. Whether your anxiety feels new or something you’ve lived with for years, this can be a space to begin understanding it more deeply.

I aim to offer a focused, respectful, and emotionally attuned environment where you can begin to explore your experience and move toward change that feels meaningful and lasting.

In-person or online sessions

I offer anxiety therapy in person from my practice in Nottingham, as well as online sessions for clients based across the UK and internationally.
