About Me

Choosing a therapist is an important decision, so it can be helpful to get a sense of the person you'll be working with. Here's a little about me and how I approach therapy.

One of the things that continues to inspire me about this work is people's capacity for change.

Time and again, I've seen people move beyond difficulties that once felt impossible to overcome. Those experiences continue to shape the hope and optimism I bring to my work.

I don't see therapy as simply a place to talk about problems. I see it as an opportunity to help people understand themselves more deeply, face the things that have been holding them back, and discover possibilities that may have previously felt out of reach.

I believe therapy should leave people not only with greater understanding, but with greater freedom in how they live their lives.

My approach is active, engaged and collaborative. I'll always aim to bring warmth, honesty and openness to our work together, while also being willing to challenge you when I believe it will help move therapy forward.

I see those two things, support and challenge, not as opposites, but as equally important parts of meaningful therapy.

My work is informed primarily by Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP), alongside a background in psychodynamic psychotherapy and over 15 years of clinical experience across NHS, university and private settings.

Alongside my clinical work, I also provide supervision to other therapists.

I'm based in Nottingham and offer both in-person sessions and online therapy across the UK and Europe.

If you're thinking about reaching out, you don't need the perfect words. A few lines about what's bringing you to therapy is enough, and we can take it from there.
